FORMED 1972
Eden and Mt. Albert-Ponsonby joined forces to form a National League team to take the place of Mt. Albert, while still retaining their own Northern League identities.

The new club was a short-lived arrangement, after MAP decided it could no longer finance a National League team, and league rules prevented Eden from going it alone, which they were prepared to do, but only under their own name.

Auckland City resigned from the National League after just one season.
