Note 1

The round-robin phase of the competition was won by the NZ Under-19 Development Squad. However, contrary to the competition regulations, the results of the NZ U-19s weren't included in standings issued by NZ Soccer over the course of the 2005 National Women's League campaign.
As a result, the three points Auckland earned for downing the NZ U-19s weren't included in the published standings, meaning Capital Soccer, who finished third in the round-robin standings via the competition regulations, finished as the top-ranked federation in the competition, and qualified as hosts of the Grand Final.
