PM Scholarships

Bridgette Armstrong - 2012-14
The Government established the Prime Minister's Athlete Scholarships in late 2000 to enable emerging and talented New Zealanders to concurrently pursue tertiary study and elite level sport development.

The Programme pays fees up to $10,000 a year and a living allowance of up to $4,000 a year to successful scholarship recipients, dependent on the athlete’s sporting performance and study load.

The goal of the programme is to assist talented and elite athletes achieve tertiary and vocational qualifications while pursuing excellence in sport.
