Goodbye To All That
The events of November 14 & 15, 2016, at Onehunga Wharf were rather low-key.
There was no fanfare and no formal farewells to mark the final shipping activities at Auckland's "other" port.
But at 10.45am on 15/11/16, "Milburn Carrier II" cast off her stern line and set sail,
bringing to an end around 180 years of shipping at the Port of Onehunga. :-(

Tika berths her last ship
Tika nudges Milburn Carrier II alongside
The last ship to berth at Onehunga
The last time we'll see this sight
A bow-on view of MC2
Alongside, moments before casting off
And she's off ... the last sailing from Onehunga
Milburn Carrier II heads past the ramp one last time
The last glimpse of a ship in the shadow of Mangere Mountain
Passing the end of the wharf
A last glimpse of two great servants of Onehunga
Heading for Hillsborough
