Just In Passing ...
Over the years, there have been a raft of occasions when vessels have passed each other on the Manukau.
Herewith a few examples, a special sequence here, and one with a difference at the bottom!

"Milburn Carrier II" and "Spirit Of Vision"
"Fijian" and "Westport" pass at 2.23pm, 16 September 1984
"Union Nelson" and "Westport" pass at 6.30am, 25 October 1983
"Auckland Express" and one of the "Awesome Foursome"
"Milburn Carrier II" and "Fijian"
"Frances" and "Giorgina"

"Auckland Express" races past "Fijian" in Jenkins Bay on 7 September 1985, watched by "Manukau".
The vessels are a mile apart, and "Fijian" is being pulled off a sandbank which she struck while making way for the "AuckEx"!!
