The Golden Years
Many thanks to Geoff Churchman, Managing Editor at Transpress
NZ, who went above and beyond the call of duty to come up with
these five pics, which first appeared in "New Zealand Maritime Images - The Golden Years", compiled by Emmanuel Makarios. Published here with Geoff's permission.

Additional pics feature the headquarters of two of the iconic
companies of NZ coastal shipping

The background pic of "Manukau", taken in 1981 is provided by
Chris Howell.

From the 1950s through to the 1980s, Whites Aviation took on the task of photographing our evolving country from on high. Along the way, a fair few photos of Onehunga Wharf were taken, which are reproduced here, together with link information to where you can see them in the National Library Archives, where larger versions can be seen and purchased.
