Built in Travemuende, Germany, she is powered by one 2750hp MAK diesel, producing a service speed of 16 knots. Ice strengthened, she has six 3 tonne derricks.

While in Auckland in August 1972, her German flag was hauled down and replaced with the Cypriot flag, while Famagusta replaced Lubeck as her port of registry, a move made to avoid new regulations in her homeland.

Time-chartered by Holm Shipping for their Pacific Islands service before Union Company took over her management for six years from 1972, on behalf of the NZ Shipping Corporation, who concluded their long-term charter of the ship in late 1977.

She has served a variety of customers since, and as "Pots Express" was crewed by a mix of Nigerian and Ghanaian seafarers, nineteen all told. They abondoned the ship in Monrovia, Liberia, in mid-2003, claiming non-payment of wages and supplies for 34 out of 37 months!

A marshal sale of the ship was scheduled to take place in April 2006, after which it is highly likely she went to the scrapyard.
