The Sublime Miss B!
I became a fan of Chantal Brunner while watching a soccer match (how odd!!) in the commentary booth at Mt. Smart #2.
At the time, I hadn’t seen her before, so didn’t know who she was, but not long after the match started, I found my eyes being drawn more towards the running track than the pitch.
For there below me, peeling off her sweatshirt and trackpants in readiness to begin her workout, stood the captivating presence of this drop-dead-gorgeous amazon.
“Cor!!”, thought I instantly of this picture of tanned and toned physical magnificence, her superbly sculptured abs and powerful thighs in particular attracting my attention, given the tendency to associate such well-developed muscles with body-builders, not athletes, female ones particularly.
Moments later, this sports-bra-and-shorts-clad beauty started practising her sprinting and long-jump work - I was hooked!
It was easy to see that this lady was no novice. Her dedication to her sport was evident in her exacting routine - she really pushed herself to the limit during her hour-long work-out, and it was this devotion to striving for excellence, as much as her stunning physique, which caught my attention.
Suffice to say, the game became something of a side-issue, not just for me but for some of the players on the pitch as well!! I well recall the ball being put out of play with increasing frequency, as more and more heads turned towards the running track. What’s more, I seem to remember a goal being scored as a result of the ’keeper gazing in the direction of ... you get the picture!!
Needless to say, I soon found out who this physical phenomenon was, and have followed her career with great interest ever since. Funnily enough, I don’t remember much else about the game now, not even the teams involved.
But the memory of Chantal Brunner strutting her stuff on the running track alongside lingers long ...
WOW!
