There were no upsets to report in the Mother's Day weekend round of Delivereasy Kate Sheppard Cup action in the northern region, with seven teams joining the eight Lotto Northern Premier Women's League sides plus Birkenhead United in the next round, the draw for which takes place on Tuesday.
For the second successive round, Whakatane Town progressed without kicking a ball in anger. Ngunguru defaulted to them in the preliminary round, while Papakura City opted to withdraw during the past week to leave the Bay of Plenty team in the last 32 of the competition.
They were joined by fellow BOP side Lakes, whose 7-1 thumping of the home team at Te Awamutu Stadium featured a four-goal haul from Chynna Davie and a brace from substitute Halee Smith. Anneka Voss added the extras for the victors, while Sophie Pereira struck what proved to be a consolation goal for the vanquished early in the second spell.
At Bill McKinlay Park, East Coast Bays came from behind to down Uni-Mount Bohemian Celtic 2-1, with a former member of the home team returning to haunt her old side in stoppage time.
All the scoring came in the second spell in this tie, with Rosie Hartwell's goal for the home team quickly countered by Kyla Anderson's "oggie" - it was 1-1 just after the hour mark. Cue Lisa Kemp - yes, the former Junior Fern broke the hearts of her old team-mates by netting a stoppage time winner to fire Bays into the next round of the cup.
Lotto Northern Women's Championship sides progressed in the remaining four ties, with the only one featuring a clash between two of them seeing Onehunga Sports prevail over Northern Rovers for the second week in a row, this time 5-1 at McFetridge Park.
Having romped home 7-0 at the same venue a week ago, "The Green Machine" rested a couple of their foremost performers, but were still too good for Rovers, who were on level terms through Jess Coyle's twentieth minute strike, captain Kate Inwood having put Sports in front fifteen minutes earlier.
Amy Wells restored their advantage six minutes before half-time, while a brace of Pip Meo goals put the visitors on easy street before substitute Emma Cains wrapped up the scoring in the shadows of the full-time whistle.
Across town at Mangere Domain, Onehunga-Mangere United went one better, hitting West Auckland for six as they advanced to the last 32.

But they had to come from behind to do so, Milly Connor giving the visitors a twelfth minute lead.
Steph Jones swiftly restored parity before the Jade Naus show hit town, "The Scarlets"' star turn scoring a hat-trick to kill off any hopes Wests held of pulling off an upset. Hazel Thrush and substitute Rachael Katoa made sure of OMU's 6-1 victory in the final quarter of the game.
Two goals apiece from Gemma Martin and Stella Neems secured Cambridge's passage into the King's Birthday Weekend round, the Waikato contenders recording a 4-1 win over Bay Olympic at Olympic Park, where Lily Danby had the home team on level terms going into half-time. Indeed, it wasn't until the final fifteen minutes that Cambridge made their league status count on the scoreboard.
There were no such concerns at the Drury Sports Complex on Saturday, with Franklin United overturning Waikato Unicol 8-0, their victory inspired by a Georgia Irvine hat-trick. Britney Cunningham-Lee and Sarah Carpenter both struck twice in the one-sided affair, after Dion Henley got the ball rolling by putting through her own net just three minutes into the contest.
It's back to Lotto Northern Women's Championship action this week, with the eagerly awaited top-of-the-table clash between Onehunga Sports and Melville United at Waikaraka Park the must-see match of the round.
Franklin should hold too many guns for Northern at the Drury Sports Complex, while OMU head to Cambridge's John Kerkhof Park home in a round which kicks off on Friday evening with the clash of Birkenhead and Central United at Shepherds Park.
