FOOTBALL FAMILY COX
You'd go a long way to deprive the Cox family of laying claim to the title  'first family of New Zealand women's soccer'.

Barbara (centre) was capped 33 times be her country, and was captain in the bulk of those internationals.

Daughter Michele (right) began her SWANZ career just as her mother was retiring from the world scene in 1987, and it is one of the great injustices of the game that she has amassed just 18 appearances for her country in the ensuring years - a victim of footballing politics if ever there was one!

Tarah (left) finally got to pull on the silver fern in 2000, and has four caps to her name thus far.

And, of course, there's Roy - Barbara's husband, Michele and Tarah's dad, former NZWFA President and Coach, former Auckland Chairman, Selector / Coach / Manager, fundraiser extraordinaire ... what hasn't he done for women's soccer since first getting involved in the game in 1972?

In 2001, he received a Services to Sport award from Sport Auckland, in recognition of his contribution to the women's game in particular over the ensuing thirty years. Well done, that man!!

(There's no truth to the rumour that his Sport Auckland honour came about because they took pity on him for his English soccer allegiances - he's a QPR supporter!!)
