Historic Tonnages
Much to my delight when researching back copies of the NZ Official Yearbook for Onehunga's shipping tonnage figures from days gone by, for twenty years, from 1952 to 1971, the tonnages of fish landed at Onehunga were recorded, and they are reproduced here.
From 1972 onwards, fish landed at Onehunga was lumped in with fish landed on the other side of town to produce a net tonnage for the city.
But in 1981 and 1982, there was a brief respite - in the latter year, they even recorded the individual tallies for snapper (1197) and trevally (1479) landed at Onehunga!
