Built in Frederikshavn, she is powered by one 4500hp Maschinenbau diesel, producing a service speed of 15 knots.

A roll-on roll-off vessel, she has a stern ramp and a side ramp, and can carry 450 cars, 63 trailers and 200 TEU.

Stability was an issue with her when not carrying full cargoes, so Pacifica got around the problem by carrying permanent ballast - eight containers port and starboard, each containing 20 tonnes of pea gravel - on her top deck.

Primarily employed on the Auckland - Lyttelton and Wellington - Lyttelton routes, she made four visits to Onehunga in March 2000 while "Spirit Of Resolution" was out of action. She was sub-chartered to Mexican interests later in the year.

She is currently operating in the Black Sea under a Panamanian flag.
