Sam Waru bagged a brace of goals as the Hawkes Bay contenders swept aside Moturoa 3-0 at Taradale Park, Nidar Mao Bun chiming in between her team-mate's efforts as "Dale" established their winning scoreline in the first half of Sunday's encounter. Twenty-four hours earlier, Petone went to town at Victoria University's expense, thrashing the students 8-1 at Boyd Wilson Park, Pepi Olliver-Bell leading the charge with her third hat-trick of the season. Jessica Owens-Blackmore bagged a brace as the visitors ran riot, with Kate Marra, Kyra Elder and Olivia Gibbs also chiming in before Nicola Baird netted a last-minute consolation goal for the well-beaten home team. Matariki weekend see tenth round action getting under way on the public holiday with a Friday evening encounter between Wellington United and Waterside Karori at Newtown Park. Saturday's fare sees Petone travelling to Arena Manawatu to take on Marist Palmerston North, while Moturoa welcome the students to Onuku Taipari Domain. And on Sunday, Miramar Rangers entertain Taradale at Dave Farrington Park on a day Wellington Phoenix and Palmerston North United lock horns at Fraser Park.
