Built in Bremen, she is powered by one 850hp Atlas-MaK diesel, producing a service speed of 11.3 knots.

She has three 5 tonne derricks, and made two visits to Onehunga for Sofrana, departing for Noumea on both occasions after arriving from Port Vila.

Two years prior to visiting Onehunga, she had a close call on a voyage from Tauranga to Whangarei, when she struck rocks off the Coromandel. She was towed off and continued her voyage north before being slipped for two weeks' worth of repairs.

She was stranded near Toulon on 17 February 2001, but was towed off, only to sink two days later in Les Issambres Roads, France.
