Built in Hamburg, she is powered by one 500hp Deutz diesel, producing a service speed of 9.5 knots. She was lengthened by 7.5 metres five years after being built.

Ice strengthened, she has three 2 tonne derricks.

She traded around Europe for a variety of German owners during her first thirty years, before Panamanian interests acquired her in 1990, soon after which she visited Onehunga, arriving from Yamba before sailing for Wanganui.

Two years later, she was acquired by Vanuatu interests, and was last heard of flying the Solomon Islands flag.
